WHAT WE DO

THEOLOGICAL TRAINING

In order to equip the church for long-term sustainability it is necessary for church leaders and the congregation to understand the fundamentals of our Christian faith. We seek to accomplish this by various different means and methods.

We host at least 4 Bible conferences throughout the year. Each 2-day conference focuses on a different book, theme, or doctrine from Scripture. These conferences are a time for intense study as well as deep fellowship and discussion.

Bible Conferences

In 2021 an informal Bible College was launched to teach potential church leaders as well as church members in-depth studies of our faith. Meeting weekly and with 4 terms in a year, the Bible College encompasses both Biblical and Systematic courses with plans for future expansion.

Pastoral training within unreached people groups looks very different than in areas with established churches. Our pastoral training begins by identifying men who are called and qualified for ordained ministry. We equip them with Biblical knowledge to rightly handle the Word of God, while building Christian character, and cultivating a heart to shepherd the people of God.

TRANSLATION PROJECTS

The Samburu people are an oral culture with an oral language. Until recently in their history, the Samburu language was not written. The translation of the New Testament into Samburu was completed in 2019. There are no other resources to help the believer grow in their walk with Christ. In order to equip believers to know God and mature in their faith it is necessary to translate Christian material.

Audio Bibles are solar-powered MP3 devices containing audio of the entire Samburu New Testament. The Old Testament is in the process of being translated by Bible Translation and Literacy (BTL) East Africa. Due to illiteracy, this is the only access to the Word of God for many. We strategically distribute audio Bibles to those that are either attending our outreach groups or our church. These devices give an opportunity to hear God’s Word in their own language and write it on their hearts.

One of the first resources we translated was the Apostle’s Creed and it has proved to be beneficial in public worship as well as in teaching the basics of our faith. Current ongoing projects are the translation of the Westminster Confession of Faith and Shorter Catechism. It is our goal to translate other creeds, confessions and theological materials in order to equip the church to stand firm in the faith.
